Chiefs coach Dave Rennie has denied cheating in the dying minutes of their nail‑biting Super Rugby win over the Hurricanes last weekend.
The Chiefs won 28‑27 but the match went to uncontested scrums for the last five minutes after tighthead prop Siate Tokolahi was injured battling the Hurricanes' dominant pack.
Rennie said Tokolahi was genuinely injured and denied that it was a tactical move.
Tokolahi has been named on the bench for tonight's match against the Sharks but Rennie says that should not cast doubt on the seriousness of the injury he suffered against the Hurricanes.
The Chiefs will face the Sharks at 7.35 tonight.
