Veteran Fiji wing Rupeni Caucau who has put an end to his eight‑year stay in France, wants to play sevens rugby.
The 34‑year‑old was released from his Agen Rugby contract.
The Agen rugby president said Caucau has set his sights on becoming a sevens player ahead of the 2016 Olympics where rugby will make its debut.
Caucau’s 14‑year career, which has seen him play six years at Agen and two with Toulouse, starred at the 2003 World Cup in Australia and was twice top try‑scorer in the French Top 14.
Meanwhile, the Dubai 7s kicks off this Friday with the Vodafone Fiji 7s team taking on France in their first pool match at 6.44pm.
They will later meet Brazil at 9.44pm.
Their last pool match is against Argentina at 1.52am Saturday.
The Cup quarterfinals start at 8pm Saturday, the Cup semifinals are at 1.55am Sunday while the Cup final kicks off at 3.42am.
