Rugby World Cup final hero Dan Carter will take on some of the biggest names in sport after being named a finalist for the BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year award.
Carter, who helped the All Blacks to back‑to‑back titles, is up against Usain Bolt (athletics), Novak Djokovic (tennis), Katie Ledecky (swimming), Jordan Spieth (golf) and Serena Williams (tennis).
Carter was named rugby's world player of the year after guiding the All Blacks through the final against the Wallabies, kicking 19 points in the win at Twickenham.
He retired from international rugby as the record points scorer with 1,598 points from 112 tests.
Carter is now in Paris to start his French club career with Racing 92.
The winner will be named on December 21st.
