Dan Carter is urging Crusaders administrators to listen to their players and cancel their proposed Super Rugby match against the Hurricanes in Fiji.
He told The Press that the match should be played at Nelson’s Trafalgar Park because it will be a great boost to the Crusaders players if they play in front of their fans.
Carter said playing in Fiji will provide its challenges, especially at such a critical stage of the season.
New Zealand Rugby Players Association boss Rob Nichol has met with the Crusaders and Hurricanes players and is in the process of taking their views to NZ Rugby and their respective franchises.
A decision is expected to be made next week.
