Six years ago Jayson Bukuya was thinking about giving the game away.
But on Sunday night the Fiji Bati and Cronulla Sharks forward will try to help the Sharks create their own slice of history.
Despite being in the competition for 49 years and appearing in three grand finals, the Sharks are yet to win a premiership.
They have only won the minor premiership twice, in 1988 and 1999.
Bukuya says this is the biggest moment in his NRL career.
The 27-year-old is also the club’s second longest serving player having made his first grade debut against Canterbury Bulldogs in 2008.
The Sharks will face the Melbourne Storm at 8.15pm at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney in the NRL Grand Final.
