Kyle Brown will captain the South African 7s team in the Singapore 7s this weekend.
Coach Neil Powell has included Dylan Sage, Werner Kok, Rosko Specman and Cecil Afrika.
Powell has also included some of the young players that played at the Hong Kong 7s including Zain Davids, Selvyn Davids and James Murphy.
He says one of the objectives for them this season was to expand the depth of their playing squad and because of that he was not forced into any selections due to injuries.
Powell adds this squad is their best for this tournament as everyone is really pushing for a starting position.
South Africa is pooled with defending champion Canada, Samoa and Argentina for the Singapore 7s.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s national 7s team will take on Japan at 5.36pm this Saturday.
They will then play Russia at 9.02pm Saturday before playing their final pool match against Spain at 12.28am Sunday.
The Cup quarter finals will begin at 4.30pm Sunday, the semi finals will begin at 8.50pm Sunday while the Cup Final is at 12 am Monday.
Barring any upsets, they will meet Australia or Scotland in the quarter final, USA or Argentina in the semifinal, South Africa or New Zealand in the final.
