All Blacks debutant George Bridge was blown away at his first outing in the black jersey, scoring twice in Saturday night's 69‑31 win over Japan in Tokyo.
23-year-old Bridge, came on as a half‑time substitute, scoring with his very first touch of the ball as an All Black, capping off a lethal move for his first Test points, before grabbing a second later on.
Speaking to media after the match, Bridge couldn't hide his delight at becoming an All Black, after years of promise with Canterbury and the Crusaders.
Bridge says that a few of the players got the opportunity to run out there, and he thinks they did the black jersey proud.
Speaking about the match itself, Bridge said that the physicality and pace of Test rugby showed that he still had a long way to go.
Meanwhile the All Blacks now look to preparations for their first match against England in four years.
England will face the All Blacks at 4am Sunday.
