The South Africa 7s team is confident they can have a successful Wellington 7s tournament even without two of their most influential players Kyle Brown and Cecil Afrika as the star duo have been ruled out of injuries.
South Africa is pooled with the Vodafone Fiji 7s team, Australia and Japan.
Rosco Specman believes if the team plays well then individuals will also shine so it has to be a team effort.
He says the team has prepared well for the tournament and is getting sharper as the tournament approaches.
South Africa lost the Wellington 7's final last year to All Blacks 7s.
Meanwhile, the Fiji 7's team will depart for Auckland in the next hour.
The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will play Australia in their first pool match at 10.46am on Saturday before facing Japan at 2.10pm while Fiji’s last pool match will be against South Africa at 6.18pm.
The medal quarterfinals will begin at 11.38am Sunday while the semifinals will begin at 4.16pm.
The medal final will be held at 7.30pm Sunday.
