New Zealand spinner Will Somerville in action

New Zealand Cricket Team debutant Will Somerville took three key wickets to guide his side to their first away series win over Pakistan in 49 years.

The off‑spinner took 3‑52 and was supported by Ajaz Patel and Tim Southee who both took 3‑42 in a 123‑run win in the third and final Test in Abu Dhabi.

Pakistan, set a target of 280 in 79 overs, were all out for 156.

It gave New Zealand a 2‑1 series win after they won the first Test and Pakistan levelled the series.

Meanwhile, Travis Head scored an unbeaten half‑century on his home debut to give Australia hope at the end of the second day of the first Cricket Test with India at Adelaide Oval.

He finished the day on 61 not out with Mitchell Starc on eight to leave their side on 191‑7.

However, they are still 59 runs short of India's total of 250.

India lost their final first‑innings wicket with the opening ball of the morning but Australia were unable to capitalise when they went out to bat with spinner Ravichandran Ashwin tearing through the top order with three wickets.
