Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy has indicated he would be open to welcoming off‑contract rugby star Israel Folau back to the club if he left the 15‑man code over his controversial social media comments on homosexuality.
Bellamy handed Folau his debut at Melbourne in 2007 before he left for Brisbane and says that any club would obviously want him.
Folau earlier this week revealed he was prepared to walk away from rugby over the controversy, but denied he was angling for a return to the NRL.
In the NRL matches for the week, the Bulldogs will take on the Roosters at 9.50pm tomorrow.
On Friday, the Warriors will face the Dragons at 8 pm while the Broncos will play the Storm at 9.50pm.
On Saturday, the Rabbitohs will take on the Raiders at 5 pm, the Wests Tigers will play the Knights at 7.30 while the Cowboys will face the Titans 9.35pm.
On Sunday, the Eels will play the Sea Eagles at 4 pm while the Sharks will face the Panthers at 6.10pm.
