Vodafone Fiji Bati coach, Brandon Costin says if they beat Samoa and Papua New Guinea in the Oceania Cup it will open doors for the team to play tier one nations.
Costin says he agrees that they have to earn the right to play the tier one nations and that is their goal.
He says they are establish a strong culture where they can become a stronger team and play the top teams.
Costin also confirmed that local players will feature against the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII side in Suva later on in the year and also the Pacific Games.
Some top players that featured in the Australian Prime Minister’s team last year included Daly Cherry-Evans, Ben Hunt, Aaron Woods, Reagan Campbell‑Gillard, Tyson Frizell and David Klemmer.
Fiji will play Samoa and Papua New Guinea in November in New Zealand.
