Shakib Al Hasan's unbeaten 124 helped Bangladesh pull off the second highest chase in Cricket World Cup history with a dominant seven‑wicket win over West Indies this morning.
Hasan took apart the West Indies' one‑pace attack, reaching his second successive century of the tournament off 83 balls.
Victory lifts Bangladesh to fifth in the table and maintain their chances of reaching the semi‑finals while also effectively ending West Indies' hopes.
West Indies will have to win their four remaining games, including tough matches against India and New Zealand, to stand a chance.
This was no shock as Bangladesh have now won five one‑day internationals in a row against West Indies and outperformed them in all areas.
Bangladesh will now play Australia at 9.30pm this Thursday while West Indies will play New Zealand at 12.30am this Sunday.
Meanwhile, England will play Afghanistan at 9.30 tonight.
The group stage format is a round robin, where all ten teams play each other once, in a single group.
This means a total of 45 matches will be played, with each team playing a total of nine matches.
The top four teams from the group will progress to the semi finals.
Australia now lead the points table, New Zealand are in second place, India in are third place while England come in fourth.
The first semifinal will be played on the 9th of next month at 9.30pm while the second semi final will be played on the 10th of next month at 9.30pm.
The final will be played on the 14th of next month.
