Having only acquired a class eight education, Samu Bale did not give up his dream of playing professional rugby.
Spending most of his life in the village, the 23-year-old from Nayavutoka, Ra started facing a lot of struggles when his father passed away and he was still around two-years-old.
Bale now joins the Vodafone Fiji 7s training squad preparing for the Paris and London 7s.
Bale says he is aiming for a spot in the final 14 for the European leg.
Meanwhile, coach Gareth Baber says the Tabadamu rover has been training well this week.
The national side was hosted by the French Ambassador for a morning tea this morning.
Baber and some of the players will also be at the Martintar 7s this weekend.
