Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber will be meeting with the sixteen teams that are going through to the second elimination of the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s at 8am today to address some issues and inform them about his expectation.
While watching Day 1 of the tournament, Baber was really concerned with the discipline of some players and other issues that he wanted to address.
Looking at the first elimination results, defending champion Tabadamu Blue thrashed Side Float Midland 43-0, First Light Taveuni Two beat QVS Old Boys 14-10, Police White thrashed Covenant Rugby 31-0, Army Green beat Army Red 33-14, Coastal Ratu Filise outclassed BLK Ranger 35-7, First Landing edged Tokatoka Sharks 7-5, Tovolea beat Raiwasa Rugby 45-0, New Net Yasawa beat Waimanu 17-12, Uluinakau Babas outclassed Navy 28-5, Shipping Service Stallions beat Nasonini Babas 17-7, First Light Taveuni 1 thumped Marist Two 21-0m Trail Blazers beat Seniboro 12-7, Police Blue defeated Hideaway Hurricanes 10-5, Silver Waters Babas beat Deuba 10-5, Wadigi defeated Can Do Generation 10-5 while New Born Waibasaga beats Coast Ratu Filise Two 12-7.
Some of the players that were outstanding at Day 1 including Alosio Naduva of Army Green, Teri Tamani of Tabadamu Blue, Nacanieli Batina of New Net Yasawa, Tomasi Ralulu and Pio Seci of First Light Taveuni and Amenoni Nasilasila of the Coastal Ratu Filise 1.
The second elimination will start at 9.15am today where Newborn Waibasaga will take on Army Green followed by Silver Waters Babarians against Tokatoka Sharks, Police Blue will face New Net Yasawa, Trail Blazers against Shipping Service Suva Stallions, Tabadamu Blue against First Light Taveuni, Wadigi versus Tovolea, First Light Taveuni Two against Kombat Uluinakau Babas while Police White will face Coast Ratu Filise One at 11.21am.
The quarter finals will start at 1.10pm, semifinals at 3.10pm while the final will start at 6.30pm.
