Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Coach Gareth Baber says he has spoken to a number of overseas players about the possibility of them representing Fiji in the Olympic Games.

While he has not revealed any names, Baber says what he wants to do is to keep progressing with the current squad and if he feels he needs additions at any point then he will look at that possibility.

The Olympic Games will be held in Japan from July to August next year.

The immediate focus for Baber is the Pacific Games in Samoa next month.

Some of the top players who have been included are series regulars, Jerry Tuwai, Waisea Nacuqu, Livai Ikanikoda, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Mesulame Kunavula, Aminiasi Tuimaba, Josua Vakurinabili, Paula Dranisinukula, Vilimoni Botitu, Terio Tamani, Meli Derenalagi and Alasio Naduva.

The Pacific Games in Samoa will begin on the 7th of July and continue to the 20th of July.
