Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Captain Kalione Nasoko has been confirmed to have a cartilage issue with his knee but coach Gareth Baber says he will be fit to play in the Hong Kong 7s.
Baber says this is unfortunate for the team as they have been rocked with injuries in the past 2 tournaments as Waisea Nacuqu is out for the rest of series, Vilimoni Botitu is suffering from neck pains and Jerry Tuwai has an aggravated ankle.
Baber says this is a good chance for new players to develop and put in more effort as these senior players are recovering.
He says he is happy with the 2 debutants, Isoa Tabu and Asaeli Tuivoka.
Fiji is in the pool of death in the Hong Kong 7s with New Zealand, Australia and Kenya.
The Hong Kong 7s will be held from the 5th to the 7th of April.
