Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Gareth Baber is keeping his fingers crossed that top French clubs could release players like Semi Radradra, Leone Nakarawa, Josua Tuisova and Semi Kunatani for the Commonwealth Games.
With no confirmation so far on who is in the 24 men squad, Baber confirms that he has had several negotiations with their respective clubs but it is a challenge itself.
Baber adds that this does not take anything away from the current players who have been working hard in camp in the past few months.
He believes having more competition within the team will build a strong team to the Commonwealth 7s and the World Cup.
The Commonwealth Games will be held in April while the World Cup 7s will be held in July.
Meanwhile, the national 7s players will start camping again next Tuesday to prepare for the Las Vegas 7s next month.
