Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Gareth Baber confirms that there has been an improvement in accuracy and physicality of players in the extended squad as they fight for a seat on the plane to the USA later this week for the Las Vegas 7s.
Baber says he was impressed with the level of preparation the boys are showing during training.
The national coach believes that consistency on the training pitch at home is crucial to help them succeed next week.
Baber says the 18 member extended squad gives him more options and he knows that the depth in selection can give him more strength and ability to pressure opponents.
He will name his 13 players for Las Vegas and Vancouver today.
Fiji will face Scotland in their first match of Las Vegas 7s at 11.22am next Saturday, they will then face Wales at 2.23pm on the same day.
They will then face Australia at 7.52am next Sunday.
The Cup quarterfinals will start at 1.46pm next Sunday, semifinals will start at 9.12am Monday the 4th of next month and the Cup final will kick off at 12.30pm Monday the 4th of next month.
