Ba thrashed defending champions, Labasa 3‑0 in their first match of the Courts IDC at Churchill Park.

Ba scored through Manasa Nawakula, Sitiveni Cavuilagi and Samuela Nabenia.

The Men in Black overpowered Labasa throughout the game and a depleted looking Labasa side had no answer to the Ba onslaught.

Ba's midfield led by Malakai Tiwa, Junior Narendra Rao and Meli Codro played a gallant game and ensured Ba had most of the possession.

Labasa on the other hand, lacked urgency and did not create any good scoring opportunities.

Ba now has three points and will play Rewa at 8pm today.

Ba coach Ronil Kumar says they have achieved their aim for day one and they are now re grouping for their match against Rewa tonight.

Rewa also has 3 points in Group B but is ahead of Ba in goal difference after the Delta Tigers hammered Dreketi 5‑1.

In Group A, Lautoka leads with three points after beating Suva 2‑0.

Lautoka's goals were scored by Pranil Naidu and Samuela Drudru.

Lautoka soccer coach, Kamal Swamy says their aim was to disrupt Suva’s style of play throughout the match.

In another Group A match, newcomers, Tavua stunned everyone after holding Nadi to a nill all draw.

Tavua which is coached by Former National and Labasa rep, Anand Sami displayed some good attacking football and also had a good defensive structure to deny Nadi from scoring.

In today's matches, Labasa will face Dreketi at 2pm, Suva will play Nadi at 4pm, Lautoka will play Tavua at 6pm while Ba will take on Rewa at 8pm. You can catch the live commentaries of the Labasa Dreketi, Suva Nadi and Ba Rewa matches on Radio Sargam.
