Ba scored a last minute miracle goal to keep their chances of a semifinal spot alive as they drew with Labasa 1‑all in their second pool match of the Vodafone Fiji FACT last night at Ratu Cakobau Park.
Malakai Tiwa scored Ba’s goal through a header.
Labasa had taken the lead after their inspirational midfielder, Edwin Shayam scored in the 13th minute of the first half.
Both teams had chances to score during the match but poor finishing let them down.
Ba will play Dreketi today at 1pm and if Ba wins they will then have four points.
Ba will need to score as many goals as they can , and hope that there is a winner in the Rewa and Labasa match.
Labasa who has four points will play Rewa who also has four points at 5pm. A draw will see both teams qualify for the semi‑finals next week. Earlier yesterday, Rewa and Dreketi played out a nil all draw.
In Group B , no team has also qualified for the semi‑finals and today’s matches will decide the fate of the teams.
Lautoka who has four points will play against Tavua who has three points at 11am. A victory for Lautoka or Tavua will see the winner qualify for the semi‑finals.
A draw will see Lautoka qualify for the knockout stages while Tavua will have to wait for the result of the Nadi and Suva match.
Nadi who was one point will play Suva who has three points at 3pm. A victory for Suva will see Suva qualify for the semi‑finals with 6 points. If the match ends in a draw then the result of the Lautoka and Tavua match will play an important role on who qualifies from the group.
In other matches played , Suva beat Tavua 1‑0 while Nadi and Lautoka played a nil all draw.
