Traditional giants of Fiji soccer, Ba beat Labasa 2‑0 in its first group match of the 2018 Inkk Mobile BOG at Churchill Park last night.
Ba made a solid start and kept attacking from the first whistle.
The Men in Black scored their first goal through a Manasa Nawakula header in the 9th minute after a corner kick.
The second goal for Ba also came through a corner kick which was headed in the goal mouth by Saula Waqa in the 22nd minute.
Waqa has also ended a goal scoring drought giving fans new hope.
Labasa was poor in finishing and could not capitalize on some good opportunities.
Ba now has three points and will play Tavua at 2pm today.
In another Group B match, Lautoka beat Tavua 1‑0 with a Samuela Drudru goal.
Drudru who has never won a BOG Title in his entire soccer career says he wants this to be his first BOG title.
Lautoka will play Labasa at 6pm today.
In Group A, Nadi hammered Dreketi 4‑0 while defending champion, Rewa beat Suva 2‑1.
In today’s matches, Rewa will play Nadi at 4pm while Suva will face Dreketi at 12pm.
