The Ba Under 11 rugby team started their Crest West Kids Rugby Development Festival on a high note after defeating Ra 12-7 at Prince Charles Park this morning.
In other matches, the Naitasiri Under 11 team drew 5-all with Lautoka while the Naitasiri Two Under 10 team beat Nadroga 5-0 in tag rugby.
In the Girls Division, all the grade matches will be played in tag rugby along with the Boys Under 9 and Under 10 teams.
3,500 students from 12 districts around the country are part of this year’s Crest West Kids Rugby.
They include Navosa, Nadroga, Nadi 1, Nadi 2, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua‑Vatukoula, Ra, Seaqaqa, Bua, Naitasiri 1 and 2 and Northland.
The tournament will end this Thursday.
Meanwhile Nasinu and Suva Blues look strong as they have won all their pool matches in the Galaxy Kaji Rugby Tournament which is currently being held at the ANZ Stadium.
Nasinu will take on Taveuni in all grades from Under 9 to Under 14 after they won all their games on Day 1.
In other results today, the Taveuni Under 10s beat Cakaudrove East 7-0, while Cakaudrove East drew 7-all with Kadavu in the Under 11 grade.
The Under 12 Suva White side defeated Taveuni 14-7.
The finals of the Galaxy Kaji Rugby tournament will be held tomorrow as the last round of games will be played this afternoon.
