Action from the Suva vs Lautoka match

Ba sent a stern warning to all teams in the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants soccer tournament after coming from behind to beat Labasa 3-1 at Ratu Cakobau Park.

Ba, who has qualified from Group A as winners with 7 points, will host the first semifinal at Govind Park while Suva will face Rewa in the second semifinal.

The Babasiga Lions just needed a draw to qualify but Ba proved too strong and scored three goals in the second half.

Labasa captain Taniela Waqa opened the account but minutes later Ba received a penalty and Avinesh Swamy made no mistake from the spot kick to level terms.

Ba lived up to the expectation as Malakai Tiwa headed the second goal from a Avinesh Swamy cross.

Ba’s Malakai Rakula shortly scored the Men in Blacks third goal from a powerful shot.

In the other matches of the day, Nadi thrashed Tailevu Naitasiri 5-0, Rewa thumped Nadroga 6-0 and Suva thrashed Lautoka 5-1.

Suva qualified for the semifinals as Group B winner while Nadi came in as the runner-up.

Rewa has qualified for the semifinals as runner-up from Group A.

The first semifinal between Ba and Nadi will be on Thursday at 7pm at Govind Park while the second semifinal will be on Friday at 7pm at Ratu Cakobau Park between Suva and Rewa.

The final will be played on Sunday at Ratu Cakobau Park.
