Australian Super Rugby players will reportedly receive about a 10% pay rise despite declining domestic interest in the game and uncertainty over the competition.
Rugby Australia and players' representatives have nutted out a new two‑year collective bargaining agreement for an average FJD$357,000 yearly wage in 2018, according to News Corp Australia.
The agreement is expected to be announced by outgoing Rugby Australia boss Bill Pulver and Rugby Union Players' Association counterpart later today.
The deal is also expected to allow Super Rugby squads to increase by five players, while men's and women's sevens players' base pay has been raised to a similar level to their XV‑a‑side colleagues.
Meanwhile, the 2018 Super Rugby season will kick off next month.
