Australia registered a nil‑all draw in its first leg against Honduras in the intercontinental play‑off for FIFA World Cup qualification.

New Zealand also held Peru to a nil‑all draw in the first leg of their 2018 FIFA World Cup play‑off at Wellington Regional Stadium last night despite heavy pressure from the South Americans.

Meanwhile, Sergio Aguero scored an 86th‑minute winner as Argentina claimed a 1-nil international soccer friendly victory against World Cup hosts Russia in Moscow.

Manchester City record goalscorer Aguero, who started in attack with Lionel Messi, headed home at the second attempt from close range.

It gives Argentina back‑to‑back wins for the first time since June.

In other matches, Spain beat Costa Rica 5-nil and Macedonia defeated Norway 2-nil.
