Athletes from schools in the Northern Division will not participate in the FMF Chow Games this year and will have their own competition held in the North.
The FMF Chow Games is scheduled to be held on the 16th and 17th of November while the Northern Competition will be held on the 9th and 10th of November.
Chairman of the Fiji Primary School Athletics Association, Patrick Bower says they had earlier decided to hold a National Chow Games competition rather then each division holding their separate games.
Bower says the association has decided to hold the Northern Chow Games during the confirmed date due to teachers that will also be participating in the Elections the week after.
Bower adds that the North Chow Games will be held in Taveuni which consists of Wailevu, Cakaudrove Central, Bua, Macuata and Taveuni.
131 schools have confirmed their participation in the Chow Games this year with 43 schools participating in the North and 83 for the West and Central Divisions.
Bower says that FMF has also confirmed their support and assistance in the Northern Games.
