All Blacks loose forward Ardie Savea won't be following his brother overseas after announcing today he has re‑signed with New Zealand Rugby.
Savea took to social media to announce his future, describing the decision as very tough but ultimately he was happy with staying in New Zealand until the end of 2021.
The 25‑year‑old shone on the end‑of‑year tour as the starting No.7 in place of the injured Sam Cane, earning praise from coach Steve Hansen for his vastly improved defensive game.
Savea says it was a very tough decision but being at home with family and close friends and the opportunity to play for the All Blacks, Hurricanes and Wellington and he could not leave.
