It's finally happened, an Australian Super Rugby side has defeated a New Zealand team.
The Waratahs thrashed the Highlanders 41‑12 in Sydney last night to snap a 40‑match losing streak for Aussie sides against their Kiwi foes.
Highlanders winger Tevita Nabura was red carded after producing a flying Kung Fu kick to an opponent's face.
Nabura was issued his marching orders just 17 minutes into the game.
The shocking moment occurred as the 25‑year‑old lept to catch a high ball, while in the air, Nabura can be seen looking at Cameron Clark before extending his right leg and catching the New Zealander flush in the face with his studs.
Remarkably, Clark did not go down and continued to try and tackle Nabura.
The referee did however bring the play to a halt and consulted video assistance.
Shortly after, they officially branded Nabura with a red card.
Waratahs went on to win the clash 41‑12, ending a run of 40 straight losses.
In other matches, the Crusaders beat the Blues 32-24, Sunwolves beat the Stormers 26-23, the Hurricanes beat the reds 38-34, the sharks beat the Chief 28-24 while the Lions defeated the Brumbies 42-24.
The Jaguares will take on the Bulls at 9.40am today.
