All Blacks prop Owen Franks to play in England after World Cup

New Zealand Rugby will lose another long‑time All Black after the World Cup later this year with front rower Owen Franks announcing his departure.

Franks will leave New Zealand and the Crusaders at the end of 2019 to play for the Northampton Saints in England.

His brother, former All Black Ben Franks, also plays for the Saints.

Franks says the Crusaders, All Blacks and Canterbury Rugby have been a big part of his life, and his family’s lives, for more than a decade now, and he is grateful for every opportunity he has had to live his dream in those jerseys.
