A powerful last 15 minutes has seen the All Blacks end the international season with a victory.
New Zealand has beaten Wales 34-16 in equally tense match in Cardiff.
They scored three tries in the final 10 minutes, two to Beauden Barrett and one from a charge down for Kieran Read.
The Welsh had earlier pulled ahead 16-15 through a penalty from Halfpenny but Wales chances for breaking their 61‑year-old drought against New Zealand was far from reality.
The sides were locked at 3-all at halftime after a non‑eventful first half and that soon moved to 10‑all after a try to Julian Savea for the All Blacks and one to Welsh halfback Rhys Webb.
In their 13th test for the year the All Blacks have won 11 test, lost one against South Africa and drawn one against Australia.
Meanwhile, Ireland stormed back from a 17-0 deficit to stun the Wallabies 26‑23 victory in Dublin.
Australia led 17-0 after just 14 minutes before Ireland leveled the scores with around quarter of an hour later.
The two sides then went into halftime level at 20 all and from there they traded penalties, with Jonathan Sexton's last attempt with 17 minutes remaining, enough to seal the victory.
South Africa claimed an unconvincing 22-6 victory over Italy which also saw the retirement of Bakkies Botha while Scotland rounded off their autumn test series with a 37-12 victory over Tonga.
England has defeated Samoa 28-9 while Argentina beat France 18-13
