It was far from perfect again but the All Blacks move into their World Cup quarterfinal with much more confidence this week than last.
Frustrations of the past four weeks weren’t completely dampened in the 47‑9 win over Tonga this morning.
The All Blacks were also forced to survive a Kieran Read yellow card and several periods of extreme pressure.
With a quarterfinal looming next week, All Blacks coach Steve Hansen will no doubt demand better.
Meanwhile Samoa will play Scotland at 1.30 tomorrow morning, Australia face Wales at 3.45am tomorrow, England will meet Uruguay at 7am while Argentina face Namibia at 11pm tomorrow.
