All Blacks skipper Kieran Read has been cleared to play in this Friday's New Zealand Super Rugby derby clash between the Crusaders and Hurricanes in Wellington.
Read has been away from rugby action for four months, but was back at Crusaders training in Christchurch after their 20‑12 loss to the Waratahs in Sydney last Saturday.
Crusaders forwards coach Jason Ryan confirmed that Read has been given the green light to play.
All Blacks prop Owen Franks and Scott Barrett will also both be available for their match this Friday.
Four weeks ago, the Crusaders got the best of the Hurricanes in Christchurch, defeating the Canes 38‑22.
The clash between the two teams in the capital will decide who will cement their spot at the top of the New Zealand Super Rugby conference.
The Crusaders will face the Hurricanes at 6.35pm this Friday.
