South Africa’s 7s veteran Branco Du Preez had earlier stated that the All Blacks 7s are playing a very basic game plan to limit their mistakes and they are also very patient on attack and only strike when they see the defence is stretching.
Du Preez says that they will need to improve on their defence if they hope to win the Cape Town Sevens this weekend.
With New Zealand 7s Co‑captain Scott Curry, Kurt Baker, Akuila Rokolisoa and Sam Dickson returning to New Zealand due to injury, the team is in for a tough challenge in their last match of the Cape Town 7s this weekend.
New Zealand will be looking to defend their title in the Cape Town 7s this year.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team has their work cut out for them as they will be meeting 2 teams that they were pooled with in Dubai and the English team that will come out with all guns blazing.
Fiji will take on France in their first pool match at 9.59pm this Saturday.
They will take on Kenya at 1.20am Sunday and then play their last pool match against England at 5.03am Sunday.
The Cup quarterfinals will start at 11.04pm Sunday, semifinals will start at 3.34am Monday and the Cup Final will be played at 6.44am Monday.
