Former Vodafone Fiji 7s rep Sakenasa Aca has been racially taunted during Christchurch's senior club final last week.
This incident had caused distraught and resulted in Aca not to finish the match with just 10 minutes left.
Aca, who plays on the wing for the Christchurch club, was the target of racial abuse from a sideline spectator during the second half of Sunday's game against Lincoln University at Rugby Park.
The Canterbury Rugby Union has condemned the spectator's actions and is investigating the matter.
Aca was so upset he asked to be taken off the field with 10 minutes left in the match, which won by Lincoln University, 24‑19.
The Canterbury Rugby Union was working with the Lincoln University club to try and identify the culprit.
This is the second time that a Fijian player has been racially abused in a rugby match in New Zealand this year.
The first case was on Southbridge player Peni Manumanuniliwa.
