Maximus Lestro of Lelean Memorial School has broken the Junior Boys Discus Coca-Cola Triple N Zone record with a throw of 51.35 metres while the old record was 35.4 metres which was set last year.
A total of seven records have been broken so far at the Triple N Zone meet which is currently underway at the ANZ Stadium.
Triple N girls defending champion Adi Cakobau School is already making their mark in the field events with Adi Senimili Vakanino breaking the Intermediate Long Jump record with a jump of 4.85 metres.
The old record was 4.71 metres which was set in 2016.
Another record was set by Asinate Kasawaqa of ACS in the Senior Girls Long Jump with a jump of 5.02 metres.
The old record was 4.33 metres which was set in 2016.
The other record was set by Lydia Stevens of Lelean Memorial School in the Junior Girls High Jump with the jump of 1.40 metres while the old record was 1.32 metres which was set by Merewarita Udre in 2015.
Looking at the events this afternoon, the 400 metres final will start at 2pm, the 100 metres finals at 2.20pm, 800 metres finals at 2.40pm, 200m finals at 3.10pm, 4x400m relay finals at 3.40pm while the 4x100m relay finals will be at 4.25 this afternoon.
