Seven members of the NRL grand final‑winning Melbourne Storm outfit have been selected in the Kangaroos squad, which will open its World Cup campaign against England on October 27.
The Kangaroos has announced their 24‑man squad which also includes six debutants; Dane Gagai, Wade Graham, Felise Kaufusi, Jordan McLean, Cameron Munster and Tom Trbojevic.
Fourteen players from the inaugural Kangaroos Origin Merit Team have been selected in the World Cup Squad.
Storm skipper Cameron Smith will captain the squad, while Sydney Roosters’ Boyd Cordner has been endorsed as Vice‑Captain.
Other big names in the squad are Billy Slater, Cooper Cronk, Will Chambers, Matt Gillet, Ben Hunt and James Maloney.
The full Kangaroos World Cup squad will travel to Fiji for an exhibition match against both the Fiji Bati and the PNG Kumuls next Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
Meanwhile the Battle of the Bati between the Overseas Bati and the Fiji Residents is at 3pm this Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
