Thirty-five records have been broken at the 2016 National Schools Swimming Championship at the Damodar Aquatic Center.
Seventeen records were broken in the primary division and 18 in the secondary division.
Vunayasi District and Andrews Primary School who are participating in the competition for the first time both won medals.
Marist Brothers High School is leading the boys division with 12 gold, 13 silver and 9 bronze.
Swami Vivekananda College is second with 12 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze while third is International School Suva with 5 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.
In the girls division, Swami Vivekananda College leads with 15 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze.
Jai Narayan College is second with 8 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze while International School Suva is third with 6 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze.
Marist and SVC are the defending champions in the boys and girls divisions respectively.
Close to 50% of the swimmers in this event will be taking part in the Oceania Swimming Championship next month.
