3 players to debut for the Flying Fijians

Vodafone Flying Fijians Coach John McKee has named an experienced and powerful line up for their first match against Tonga in the 2016 Pacific Nations Cup, at the ANZ Stadium tomorrow.

Three players will make their debut in the national side.

They are Highlanders wing Patrick Osborne, Otago flanker Naulia Dawai and 7s wing Samisoni Viriviri.

Viriviri will start at fullback while Osborne and Adriu Delai will pair up in the wing.

Sunia Koto will captain the side at hooker while veteran Seremaia Bai will also start at inside center.

The halves combination will see Glasgow Warriors new signing Nemia Kenatale pairing up with Crusaders flyhalf Ben Volavola while Vereniki Goneva will take his usual outside center position.

In the forwards, the props are Campese Maáfu and Leeroy Atalifo, Tevita Cavubati and Leone Nakarawa are the locks, Naulia Dawai and Malakai Ravulo are the flankers while Nemia Soqeta will start at number eight.

McKee said that they have selected the strongest team possible and that the players understand the challenge ahead.

The Vodafone Flying Fijians take on Ikale Tahi Tonga at 3pm tomorrow at the ANZ Stadium and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti FM.
