Fiji U23 player Iosefo Verevou celebrates a goal.

A number of players from the Olympic squad have been named in the 23 member Vodafone Fiji soccer team for the Oceania Nations Cup.

These players do not lack any exposure as they have recently played some top teams in Spain and Brazil and a number of these players also played in the FIFA Under 20 World Cup in New Zealand.

Some of these players include Jale Dereloa, Nickel Chand, Tevita Waranivalu, Iosefo Verevou, Rusiate Matarerega, Kolinio Sivoki, Samuela Nabenia, Setareki Hughes, Alvin Singh, and Simione Tamanisau.

Wellington Phoenix star, Roy Krishna has also joined camp in Ba and is highly likely to captain the side.

Fiji will play New Zealand at 2pm next Saturday in it’s first group match of the Oceania Nations Cup. Fiji will also play Vanuatu and Solomon Islands in it’s other group matches.

The winner of the competition will qualify for the FIFA Confederation Cup while the top six finishing teams will get a place to play in the stage three qualification of the FIFA World Cup.
