100m finals of the Lautoka Athletics Zone has been postponed to tomorrow due to the heavy rain currently being experienced.
Three records have been broken after day one of competition at the Lautoka athletics Zone at Churchill park.
Tiko Batibasaga of Natabua High School broke his own record in the Intermediate Boys Shot-put with a distance of 15.23m.
Batibasaga threw a distance of 13.95m last year.
Orisi Navauvau also of Natabua High School set a new record in the Junior Boys Shot Put with a throw of 15.16m
The previous record of 14.57m was set by Tiko Batibasaga last year.
In the Intermediate Boys 1500 meters, Natabua High School’s Seveci Matanitabua clocked a record time of 4 mins 29 secs.
The previous record was 4mins 30 secs set by Collin Vassie of Natabua High School last year.
Looking at the Boys medal tally, Natabua High School currently lead by 9 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze, Saint Thomas High School is second with 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze while Drasa Secondary is in third place with 1 gold and 1 silver.
In the Girls Division defending champion Jasper Williams High School lead with 10 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze.
Natabua is second place with 1 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze while Saint Thomas High School is 3rd place with 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze.
The remaining events and the Blue ribbon event will be held tomorrow
