The Lewa Sewa Primary Schools Netball Competition has been called off due to heavy rain and poor ground conditions at the Suva Grammar School ground.
Fiji Primary Schools Netball President, Susana Liga confirms that 2 players were injured due to poor ground conditions while three players got sick due to cold and wet conditions.
Fijivillage raised the question on why the tournament was held in deplorable conditions in the first place as we could see the young girls struggling in muddy and rainy conditions yesterday and today. The conditions were not right at all to play netball.
Liga says the decision to have the game at Grammar was from the districts.
Liga says they regret having the games at Grammar as most of the games were affected by the muddy and slippery conditions.
She adds that they are looking at having next year’s competition in the west along with the Kaji Rugby to avoid the rain in Suva.
