Former All Black Justin Marshall has urged Crusaders fans to "grow up" and stop the "uncalled for" booing of the Wallabies' New Zealand‑born pivot Quade Cooper.
Cooper was greeted with a crescendo of jeers when he took the field as a substitute in the Rebels' 66‑0 drubbing by the Crusaders in Christchurch last Saturday night.
Cooper has been persona non grata with the New Zealand rugby public since taking some cheap shots at former All Blacks and Crusaders captain Richie McCaw in 2011.
Marshall said on Sky Sports match commentary that he thinks it is really unnecessary for Cooper to be booed onto the field.
