Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar hosted the Vodafone Fiji Under 20 football team for a appreciation dinner last night.
The team is preparing for the FIFA Under 20 World Cup which kicks-off at the end of this month in New Zealand.
While speaking at Joji’s Restaurant at Damodar City Complex, Akbar told the players that the nation calls upon them to bring glory.
She adds this can be done with dedication, commitment and discipline that has brought the team to this level.
The side will play build up matches against Mexico and Colombia in Sydney next week.
They will face Mexico next Friday and Colombia on the 18th of this month.
The side will then arrive in Christchurch on the 28th and play Germany three days later in the first match of the FIFA Under 20 World Cup.
