“Youth engagement is pivotal when it comes to cultural activities.”
This was the message by Raghwa Gopal who was the chief guest during the opening ceremony of the 92nd Sangam Convention in Lautoka.
Gopal who migrated to Canada 40 years ago says that no matter where we live whether it is in Fiji, Canada, Australia or New Zealand we must make sure that our youth are involved in all the cultural activities.
He says that it becomes incumbent upon the adults and community leaders to ensure that the youth are involved.
Gopal says that adults and community leaders must also ensure that they understand and are interested in keeping the culture alive.
He also spoke about the changes he saw in Fiji after a lapse of 40 years.
Raghwa Gopal is a former Fiji resident, originally from Nausori and is now a top entrepreneur in Canada.
