Youth clubs in the province of Ra received carpentry assistance from the Ministry of Youth Sports yesterday to further their carpentry skills with the tools provided.
Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports, Iliesa Delana, officially handed over carpentry tools to the Nokonoko, Mataveikai, Nabalabala, Vunisea, Burelevu, Nailuva and Balisere youth clubs.
These youth clubs undertook carpentry training which was facilitated by the Technical College of Fiji and funded by the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation.
During the training, these youth clubs approached the Ministry as they had insufficient carpentry tools to carry out rehabilitation work in their respective villages following Tropical Cyclone Winston.
Many areas affected in the Ra province by Cyclone Winston are still in the rebuilding phase and lack basic carpentry tools to carry out reconstruction work.
The Assistant Minister for Sports says this assistance will enable the youths to help rebuild the Ra Province.
