Residents of Lami had the opportunity to raise issues pertaining to improper drainage, flooding and intrusion of seawater into the town area and littering.
Minister for Waterways and Environment, Doctor Mahendra Reddy reassured the residents of Lami that their concerns will be considered after the ministry conducts the relevant surveys.
Reddy also spoke about how littering has become a major issue affecting the waterways adding that the Ministry will be prosecuting those that have been littering illegally and ruining drainage systems.
The ministry will also be conducting similar consultations in the Western and Northern division.
