A 21-year-old woman passed away in a road accident on Saturday.
A family member Pundit Amrit Lal says Rashnita Singh turned 21 last month and the car was given to her as a gift by her grandfather.
The same car was involved in the accident.
Lal says they did not know that she had gone to Nadi with her 21-year-old nephew who was also the driver. A 26-year-old man was also in the vehicle.
Rashnita Singh who is a former student of Vashist Muni College died after the car she was travelling in was involved in an accident in Sigatoka on Saturday night.
Police Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri says the three were returning to Navua from Nadi when the car veered off the road at a bend near Navola village and hit a tree.
Sokomuri says Rashnita Singh died at the scene while the 21-year-old driver is admitted at the Lautoka hospital after sustaining serious injuries.
The other passenger is admitted at the Sigatoka hospital.
