Amena Yauvoli is the new Ambassador for Climate Change and Oceans.
This has been confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Ratu Inoke Kubuabola said Yauvoli has the passion, integrity, professional credentials and experience to champion the concerns, not just of Fiji, but of vulnerable island states in the Pacific.
Yauvoli is a former Permanent Secretary of Commerce, Industry, Investment and Communication and PS Foreign Affairs and was until recently the interim secretary‑general of the Pacific Islands Development Forum (PIDF).
Yauvoli will be working closely with his department and other stakeholders as they prepare for COP21 in Paris.
