Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said music, dance, theatre and films are all celebration of a nation’s identity, a nation’s transition and the nation’s self-confidence in terms of expressing itself.
Speaking at the HFC Banks Kula Film Awards last night, Sayed-Khaiyum said films is obviously one of those mediums in Fiji that needs to be developed.
He added the movies shown at the Film Awards are a range of views, ideas and representations of how the youths see Fiji and the issues that they feel are important to Fiji.
Janhvi Kant from Xavier College won the Best Actress for the film Prank and the Best Actor award went to Nikhal Prasad of Korovuto College for the film Proud Fool.
The best Film Award went to Xavier College for the film Prank, while the Best Music award went to Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial College for Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow.
