Workshop underway to help women with disabilities who face violence

A workshop is underway in Suva to assist women living with disabilities who face some sort of violence in the country.

Last year in January about 30 women living with disabilities were surveyed who shared their personal experience and all types of violence in their homes.

Fiji Disabled People’s Federation President Rakesh Chand believes the workshop will enable them to identify and see where the problem lies and how they can help these women.

A toolkit has also been drafted and the information will be made public later this month.

The workshop is underway at Devos on the Park which will end this Friday.
